Memphis Volunteer Week #ShareYourService: Candice Ivy

Volunteer Odyssey is grateful for all the amazing people giving back to the Memphis community. This week is Memphis Volunteer Week and we want to highlight some of our amazing volunteers and their stories.

Candice Ivy is the Community Engagement Officer at the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA). MIFA’s mission is to support the independence of vulnerable seniors and families in crisis through high-impact programs.

MIFA is one of Volunteer Odyssey’s nonprofit partners where you can sign up to volunteer. “We simply couldn’t do our work without volunteers. MIFA needs volunteers to help drive our mission. I would encourage others to volunteer at MIFA because of our vision to unite the community through service, bringing people of diverse backgrounds together as neighbors to serve our neighbors.”

Candice says there would be a huge void in the community without Volunteer Odyssey. “Volunteer Odyssey has been a lifeline to the awesome volunteers in our city. Also, the wealth of knowledge that Volunteer Odyssey provides has been instrumental in fine tuning MIFA’s volunteer processes.”

Not only does Candice support the Memphis community through her job, she also supports the city by volunteering in her free time. “Volunteering has enriched my love for people and my city. There are some amazing things happening in Memphis and volunteering has allowed me to see it and provide resources to those in need.”
