This week I went to Memphis Botanic Garden and found out they have so many volunteer opportunities!
Memphis Botanic Garden was founded over 50 years ago by volunteers; so volunteering is at the heart of what they do. They have 96 acres of land filled with 29 gardens that even include literal flower beds!
All this land takes a lot of work, so they rely on volunteers like you to keep up with the many things going on at the garden. They need volunteers to help in the Japanese and Asian Garden, the Butterfly Garden, the Horticulture Room and more.
Donât know anything about plants? Thatâs okay! They accept people of all ranges and experiences and are happy to teach you their horticulture wisdom. They also have a lot of other fun activities such as feeding the koi fish!
If you like kids, they need volunteers for their Mudpie Mondays and Adventure Fridays. These activities not only give the kids something fun to do but it’s also an educational experience about the environment and ecosystems.
Memphis Botanic Garden also needs more volunteers for their Sprinkler Day event which is this Saturday, July 15th!
As you can see, Memphis Botanic Gardens is absolutely gorgeous! So if you want to sign up for any of these fun volunteer opportunitiesâyou know what to do! Go to volunteercompass.com
