This week I went to Memphis Botanic Garden and found out they have so many volunteer opportunities!

Volunteering is the backbone of Memphis Botanic Garden.

Volunteering is the backbone of Memphis Botanic Garden

Memphis Botanic Garden was founded over 50 years ago by volunteers; so volunteering is at the heart of what they do. They have 96 acres of land filled with 29 gardens that even include literal flower beds!

All this land takes a lot of work, so they rely on volunteers like you to keep up with the many things going on at the garden. They need volunteers to help in the Japanese and Asian Garden, the Butterfly Garden, the Horticulture Room and more.

Their garden include plenty of flower beds—literally!

Don’t know anything about plants? That’s okay! They accept people of all ranges and experiences and are happy to teach you their horticulture wisdom. They also have a lot of other fun activities such as feeding the koi fish!

If you like kids, they need volunteers for their Mudpie Mondays and Adventure Fridays. These activities not only give the kids something fun to do but it’s also an educational experience about the environment and ecosystems.

Hey guys! So today I went to the Fig Tree Food Pantry to help Catholic Charities pass out food to those in need.

Volunteer Opportunity Memphis Feed Hungry

Here they not only help feed the homeless with packs of non-perishable food items, but they also supply groceries to hard working families who are trying to get on their feet.

Due to privacy policy, I was not able to show the families receiving the food, but they were the highlight of this opportunity. They were all so friendly and grateful for the food.

Catholic Charities needs people like you to help pack the bags of groceries for these families. If you’d like to help out or if you’re interested in the other opportunities at Catholic Charities go to VolunteerCompass.com
